Our Lady of Hope School

The Cans For Kids Project evolved out of the fundraising efforts of Year 5/6 students at Our Lady Of Hope School, South Australia. All kinds of recyclables were collected daily, cleaned and sorted before selling them to raise money, to support the education of children in need. As part of the Social Justice Program students were expected to partake in some kind of community service locally and overseas. It is a strong part of what it means to be a Catholic Christian at OLOH School, and acting out the faith.

                                                 Global education starts at school

Doing the dirty work of recycling

                                      Entrepreneurial studies starts with maths!

And so it was that in 2015, the Minister for Education and Child Development, awarded the CFKP with an award, being ‘Children’s Rights are Human Rights, for the great work they do with the “Cans for Kids Project” to assist families and children in underdeveloped countries to have a better quality of life.
